The Bee Well Birth Collective is a community created to support families through pregnancy, birth, and the early seasons of parenthood. Whether you are preparing to conceive, expecting your first baby, or growing your family, our intention is to offer a place where parents feel informed, supported, and gently guided through this transformative time.
Becoming a parent can bring excitement, questions, and moments of uncertainty. We believe that when parents are surrounded by thoughtful education, compassionate support, and a welcoming community, they can move through pregnancy and early parenthood with greater confidence and trust in themselves and their bodies.
The Bee Well Birth Collective brings together trusted educators, experienced practitioners, and families who value learning, connection, and a more supported start to family life. Here, parents can gather, ask questions, share experiences, and find encouragement in a space designed to nurture both parent and baby.
Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome here. We are honored to be part of your village.

Hi, I’m Dr. Maria, the chiropractor at Bee Well Chiropractic. I specialize in caring for pregnant moms, babies, and kiddos, with a special focus on supporting the breastfeeding journey. I’ve spent countless hours working alongside mothers to help them feel confident and supported as they navigate helping their babies find ease with feeding, digestion and sleep.
Along with my chiropractic training and advanced education in infant and prenatal care, I am a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist and am currently working toward becoming an IBCLC. I love integrating gentle, nervous system–focused chiropractic care with evidence-informed lactation support to help both mom and baby thrive.
Hello! I’m Catherine, a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, full-spectrum doula, and yoga teacher dedicated to supporting families through the unique transitions parenthood brings. After years of traveling the world, I’ve found my home here in Nevada City.
I am currently pursuing my IBCLC certification to offer advanced lactation care to my community. When I’m not working towards my license, you can find me submerged in the Yuba River, tending to my garden, or exploring the outdoors with my three-year-old daughter Magnolia, my partner Matthew, and our dog Bebe. I look forward to walking alongside you through all the phases of your feeding journey.
Hi, I’m Jen Edwards. I’m a birth doula and pre and postpartum training specialist with a deep love for supporting women through one of the most transformative seasons of their lives. During pregnancy, I help women navigate their changing bodies with confidence — building strength, stability, and trust so they feel prepared and capable heading into labor. I believe a strong body supports a calm mind, and preparation creates empowerment.
Postpartum, I guide women at any stage after birth back to functional, resilient core strength. Whether you’re weeks or years out, my goal is to help you reconnect with your body, rebuild from the inside out, and feel strong, grounded, and whole again. It’s an honor to support women from preparation to recovery and everything in between.
When I’m not training or attending births, you’ll find me soaking up the sun with my husband and our two-year-old son, grounding in the dirt, or enjoying a girls’ day that fills my soul and deepens the friendships that keep me balanced.
Hi, I’m Cheyenne Lakhota. I'm the founder of Belly of the Moon which offers education and support in fertility wellness, hormonal nutrition, sovereign birth, holistic childbirth preparation, intuitive mothering, and postpartum stewardship.
I am a daughter, a sister, a partner, a mother, and a friend. I am a homemaker, a spell breaker, a naturalist, an artist, a regenerative land steward, and an avid photographer. I am a grounded and calm presence, guided by Spirit and ancestral wisdom, deeply and compassionately connected to the natural world. I am a student of life with gifts to give. I invoke the innate wisdom of the body. The body that is of nature, not separate from it. I am an honoring witness of the intrinsic beauty within the whole of creation. Life, death, rebirth.
I have found inspiration to become who I needed to be for myself, and for other women walking the path into motherhood. Into the mystery of life. Into the great unknown. Into the most beautiful and sacred experience one has the honor to be a part of. Through my lived experience of two primal pregnancies and unassisted births, as well as three years of devoted study in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum under wise women mentors and traditional midwives, I passionately offer my service in the world to mothers and families walking the path of nurturing future generations to come.
Hello, I’m Mercedes, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and registered nurse of 20 years. Most of my nursing career has been in the neonatal intensive care setting (NICU), where I had the honor of caring for premature and medically fragile babies while supporting their families through some of the most tender and challenging moments of early parenthood.
My work blends strong clinical experience with gentle, compassionate support. I believe in evidence-based care, thoughtful assessment, and practical education that honors both your baby’s needs and your intuition as a parent. It’s my privilege to partner with you, offering steady support as you work toward your feeding goals.
I’ve called this community home for 18 years and have raised my two sons here. Outside of work, you’ll often find me outdoors hiking, biking, or skiing with family and friends, enjoying all the beauty this special place has to offer.
